We are pleased to offer an 8-week Sports Training Program June 1 – July 31, 2020! The Fieldhouse.Edge sports training program gives your athlete an EDGE up on their competition!
What is the Fieldhouse.Edge.Anchor - Month 1
Edge is 4-week sports performance anchor program that will be housed in the CNOS Fieldhouse (300 Centennial Drive, North Sioux City). Fieldhouse.Edge provides a competitive EDGE to the athletes in the Siouxland area. Baseline data will be gathered upon starting the program on day one. After the initial testing, our coaches will take you though functional moves geared toward improving speed, power and mobility. The program will include a maximum of 7 kids per coach and will be an hour daily session. The sessions will be either on Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday. On off days, at-home workouts will be provided to the athlete to complete with all movements explained on our video library.

Edge.Speed, Edge.Power or Edge.Launch - Month 2
The second 4-week program will be geared toward coach specific programming. We will specialize the athlete in either explosive power, explosive speed or explosive launch. Each class will be specialized for sport specific movements, keeping and staying anchored. In this phase, we will work on more of the kinetic chain instead of the large group muscles that will be focused on in the school settings.

Edge.Power: In this program, we will focus on core to extremity explosiveness. The goal is to help athletes move with greater force while also applying that with moderate loading.

Edge.Speed: In this program, we will focus on horizontal speed. We will use our Assault Runners every session. We will also focus on resistance training. We will be working on gaining in our first 3 steps which will lead to better acceleration and top end speed.

Edge.Launch: In this program, the focus will be vertical explosion. We will be using the Vertimax system and moving up.

Cost: $175/participant for a 4 Week Session

Participants: Fieldhouse.Edge is open to all 5th - 12th Graders

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is leading the Fieldhouse.Edge program? The edge coaches are Ben Oberle, Program Director and former USD football and track athlete, Laura Groseth, a Level 1 Certified CrossFit Coach and former NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Aaron Likness, a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with a Masters in Kinesiology.

What do I need to bring to each session? Gym clothes (shorts and a work out shirt) and gym shoes. Participants will be doing a lot of moving side to side and making "cuts", so please wear shoes that are good for running, jumping and moving.

Where are you located? Fieldhouse Fitness is located on the SECOND level of the CNOS Fieldhouse (300 Centennial Drive, North Sioux City, SD). Please use the WEST entrance. When you first arrive, please come into the gym and introduce yourself! Arrive 10 minutes early MAX. Please wash your hands everyday before we start working out.

Can parents stay and watch the program? Due to our space and social distancing guidelines, at this time parents are asked to drop off and come back after the session to pick up participants.

How will you ensure the safety of the athletes during the COVID-19 situation? All coaches will be required to wear a face mask. We highly recommend athletes do the same. Each athlete will get a disinfectant spray bottle that will be with them during their session. Our coaches and staff will do a cleaning between each session.

How will participants' progress be tracked? Our Edge.Anchor Program will focus on proper movements of our athletes. Upon starting the program, we will test 5 "combine" movements: 40 yard, 10 yard, shuttle run, vertical and broad jump. Then the next four weeks, we will hone our skills and techniques on improving those measurements. Upon completion of the program, we will conduct a post test to track improvement. The second 4 weeks, we will dig into improving and specializing in either Speed or Power programs.

What equipment will be used in the Fieldhouse Edge program? To be the best, you have to train with the best! Fieldhouse Edge has been working with Sorniex Exercise Equipment.
